Loveland has been Denver’s local mountain since 1937, making Loveland the second oldest ski area in Colorado. Throughout the years, Loveland Ski Area has focused on providing an exceptional Colorado ski & snowboard experience at an affordable price.

Loveland Ski Area is typically one of the first ski areas in the nation to open and offers a season that runs from mid-October through early-May. The Race To Open starts in late-September when snowmaking operations begin and culminate with Opening Day.

    LOCATION

Just 53 miles from Denver on Interstate 70, Loveland Ski Area offers Denver’s closest full-mountain experience. Loveland Ski Area sits high atop The Continental Divide above the Eisenhower/Johnson Tunnels and this location provides Loveland Ski Area with an average of 422 inches(over 35 feet!) of seasonal snowfall, the second most in Colorado.

    THE MOUNTAIN

Loveland Ski Area offers skiers and riders 1,800 acres of varied terrain and two separate base areas: Loveland Valley and Loveland Basin.

Loveland Valley caters to beginners with gentle, un-crowded slopes perfect for those new to the sport. With their own chair lifts, surface lifts and wide open terrain, beginners don’t have to worry about intimidating runs crossing their path or sharing trails with intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Loveland Valley is home to the Loveland Ski & Ride School that offers affordable lessons for beginners of all ages.

Loveland Basin offers terrain for every level of skier and snowboarder: steeps, trees, cruisers, open bowls and everything in-between. The Ridge, served by Chair 9 which takes skiers and snowboarders to 12,700′, offers intermediate and expert level skiers and riders terrain just the way they like it – open, steep and deep!
