History of the Brand

1978

THE BIRTH

Thierry Maissant, dedicated lover of the game developed an ambition: to provide all tennis players with an adapted, suitable  product whatever the players’ level. He co-created the brand with Hermano Da Silva Ramos, former French Formula 1 racing driver.

1983

FIRST "MADE IN FRANCE" STRINGS

Tecnifibre creates his first string with a brand-new technology: the polyuréthane. 100% of the strings production is Made in France.

1985

LAUNCH OF THE FIRST STRINGING MACHINE

Tecnifibre expands into the stringing machine business, also "Made in France". The high reliability of the machines enables Tecnifibre to become Official Stringer of many ATP Tournaments.

1987

TECNIFIBRE BECOMES THE OFFICIAL STRINGER OF ROLAND-GARROS

A great sign of recognition for the young brand : to take advantage of this partnership to communicate its high quality of products. Development of new technologies takes place with top level players. 

1998

OFFICIAL BALL OF ROLAND-GARROS

Tecnifibre reinforces his partnership with the French Federation, developing the Official ball of Roland-Garros, for the next 10 years. The brand recognition startsgrowing worldwide.

2004

TECNIFIBRE AND TENNIS RACKETS

2 collections for tennis rackets launch: T-Fight for "Baseline player who needs precision and plays medium to long rally", T-Flash for "aggressive player who likes to take the ball early for short to medium rally length".

 2009

NEXT, THE NEW GENERATION OF PLAYERS

Tecnifibre launches the NEXT program with Janko Tisparevic as Team leader. Mentoring, project management and gear customisation, NEXT helps the promising young guns to realize their projects.  

2013

TECNIFIBRE BECOMES THE OFFICIAL PARTNER OF THE ATP WORLD TOUR

The global manufacturer will provide the Official Racquets, Strings, Bags and Accessories of the ATP World Tour, as well as becoming an official sponsor of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, through 2017.

2015

LAUNCH OF THE "YOUNG GUNS ON THE ROAD" CONTEST

In 2015, Tecnifibre launched the first edition of the Young Guns Contest with a $50 000 reward for the winner. Four players of Tecnifibre team were selected to fight on court and on social media. Denis Kudla (USA) won the first edition and Daniil Medvedev (RUS) the most recent in 2016.

2017

NOUR EL SHERBINI AND MOHAMED EL SHORBAGY AT THE TOP

Amazing year for our two champions who achieved together their dream : become Squash World number 1. They both come from Alexandria in Egypt and play with the brand for more than 10 years. Their weapon of choice being the Carboflex 125S.
