The indoor portion of the 2017 Interbike bike convention started Wednesday with good attendance numbers and positive exhibitors everywhere.  Just like the Outdoor Demo, the smaller foot print of the indoor show has not deterred attendees from all over the country to show up and find the latest products available in the bike industry. 

The show is definitely heavy with e-bikes this year as almost every brand has at least one model of this exciting new bike product category.  Some brands are going all in on the trend and are strictly e-bike companies while others are mixing it up and providing both regular and e-bike models in all tire types.

What’s Happening at Interbike

The show floor is busy with people conducting meetings, magazines taking pictures and interviews and everywhere there are new products and even some new brands exhibiting for the first time.  

One of the best things we’re seeing while walking the show floor is the number of brands doing product demos for prospective dealers.  These company reps and even owners are staging full product demos that would make even the Ginsu Knife guy proud.  We posted some video on Instagram showing how engaged the attendees are listening and watching as these products are described and shown how to properly use.  

This is a great resource for shop staff to take back to their local store and use to properly educate their customers.  We can see how attending Interbike, or any convention, can be more than just looking and talking, it can also be about learning a better way to present products back home at the store.  These brands were able to grab attendees’ attention in a crowded convention hall with hundreds of people, how effective would this be put into action with your own local customers.
