Bike Bash at Big Bear West Virginia Cancels 2020 Event But Still Offers Locals Camping and Riding Weekend

Bike Bash at Big Bear West Virginia Cancels 2020 Event But Still Offers Locals Camping and Riding Weekend

Bike Bash at Big Bear West Virginia 2020 Event Update

The Bike Bash WV team continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation in West Virginia and follow the guidelines from local & state government agencies as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our attendees, staff, volunteers, and partners. We are committed to making decisions related to our 2020 event that align with this priority.

At this time, it is clear that we cannot proceed with the robust schedule of events as planned. We had hoped, with time, that we would move toward normalcy giving us the opportunity to still host the Bike Bash WV in July 2020. With only seven weeks before the event date, we’re still in a holding pattern and therefore have to make the difficult decision to walk back our 2020 event.

We are excited to announce that Bike Bash WV 2021 is scheduled to take place over the July 16-18, 2021 weekend at the Big Bear Lake Trail Center in Bruceton Mills, WV. Attendees should expect an amazing trail-network, campfires, group rides, shuttle service, bands, family-friendly activities, and an expo area with bike and product demo opportunities.

All exhibitors who have registered for the 2020 event will be offered refunds or transfers to the 2021 event. We’re going to keep the exhibitor registration open and we hope you’ll consider joining us for 2021. Contact Eric Butler (eric@demodays.com) to reserve your spot.

To our registered attendees: with all of the event cancellations being announced across the United States, we hope that the need for us to make this tough decision does not catch you by surprise. We certainly share in your disappointment. Although we can’t offer the full festival experience in 2020, we still want to see you camping and riding bikes at the Big Bear Lake Trail Center over the July 17-19, 2020 weekend.

Currently registered attendees will be given the following options:

•    A refund equal to the amount paid toward the 2020 event

•    A partial refund (minus $25) of the amount paid if you choose to join us for the July 17-19, 2020 socially distant camp and ride weekend without committing to the 2021 event, or

•    A transfer equal to the amount paid to the 2021 event AND a free entry to our socially distant camp and ride weekend that will be held July 17-19, 2020 (BEST VALUE)

For interested attendees who did not register for Bike Bash WV 2020, we’re going to leave the 2020 registration open with the option to sign up and then we’ll transfer your registration to the 2021 event with a free entry to the socially distant camp and ride weekend included. There will also be the option to just sign up for the socially distant camp and ride weekend.

More information will be forthcoming through our event BikeReg registration page and through our other digital and social media outlets. We do hope that all of you are healthy and staying active during these uncertain times. We are committed to continuing our long history of hosting quality events that showcase the excellent mountain biking in West Virginia and the beauty of the Mountain State. All we need is you!
